The Levi Weaver Syndrome, Redux

I'm trying to take notice when I come across an artist who has leveled out and needs some help to reach the next plateau. I'm going to try to keep a tally of these artists, how many points they have and how many they might need to reach the next level. I'm creating a separate topic for this so we can use the comments for that purpose. The good news is that Levi Weaver is right on the cusp of level 15. Won't be long now.

I'm sure this list could be enormous, so I'm suggesting that just for now we keep mainly to artists with good recognition - although in the long run, supporting the little guy/gal will be the most satisfying. The first artist I happened to notice was:

Josh Woodward
Level 9, 11 songs posted.
2416 pts., needs to reach approx 2700.

Let's get a tally of several artists before we decide whether and how to organize support.

Josh Woodward is a GREAT example and one of my favorite Artists on t61. Listening to his music seems more like a privilege and I really am looking forward to more from him.

I was hoping to revive one of his songs to get him more points. I will be max bumping everything I haven't max bumped for him.

Another Artist is Bon Iver

Jet Set Satellite
Level 14, 16 tracks
7059 pts., needs to reach approx 7850

@Apocalypse
I'll watch my subscription pane and max bump a few of the tunes you hit. Let's focus on tracks that haven't posted yet and see if Browse:activity can get us to the promised land.

Anyone else is welcome to join in!

@Apocalypse
Just want to add that although carpet bombing tracks is great, and you are as unselfish with your points as anyone, a better long-term strategy might be to focus on getting several listeners to help one track at a time to post.

If you use all your bumps now and some of the tracks don't post, when it comes time to push those you won't be able to add your support. But I love your spirit!! Just my two cents.

yeah you know what, screw it, i'm going to max bump. iyzie is right - this is a much better way than a Revive to drop 1000 pts.

Thanks for the support guys. With regards to Josh Woodward's songs, let's focus on these two for now:
She Dreams in Blue
and
I Wanna Destroy Something Beautiful

Thoughts?

we'got 4 songs in the first 2 pages of browse:activity

hmm that seems to have fizzled out. next time we can come up with a better strategy... lol

I just dropped 80 bumps (not points) on various Josh Woodward songs. Might be enough.

If I may add Corey TuT to the list? He doesn't have *any* songs posted, which is a crime.

iyzie - I think a good strategy would be to create a new post for Corey Tut and galvanize some broader support to push him, maybe tomorrow. the Josh Woodard effort was probably a little too piecemeal although it looks like it may ultimately succeed in leveling him and maybe in posting one song. what do you think? let's get organized and do this right.

I'm all for that.
The question is: Is this a good _blog_ activity? Or should it be HQ'd/orgainzed in some forum somewhere.

Or, perhaps until the fan forum is up and running we o it here, and then, later move it to a threaded subforum.

BTW, I'm totally on board with Jet Set Satellite, Half Acre Day and others also when the time comes.

keith said...

Yeah I think it's only blog activity pre-launch, b/c this is the most convenient/only forum. Post-launch it should move somewhere else. Although I do plan on having a daily (or so) blog feature for underbumped tracks.

Josh just hit level 10! Many thanks to all who contributed.

Welcome to level 10, Josh.

(I wish we could just edit comments instead of deleting them. Damn typos.)

The Forum will be up when the site moves. We will definitely put in an underbumped section and focus on an artist daily. With more people on the Forum, we can take it places. In the meantime, this is as good a vehicle for achieving that as any and if we bump, our Subscribers usually follow.

More artists that are in desperate need of levels:
ugres: level 10, 17 tracks, needs to hit level 16
LorenRadis: Level 13, 23 tracks, needs to hit level 22
Glenn Case: level 11, 21 tracks, needs to hit level 20

These are probably extreme examples and would be difficult to pull off. Just some food for thought.

I refuse to support Glenn Case any more, until he promises to stop spamming my Comment Wall :-)

ROCK!

Bwahaha!

I need to make a 61 rock graphic. But that might just encourage him.

I know silk mentioned cactus bob but I think their songs Mr. Whiskey, Blackened oak, and to love the bomb are majorly underbumped. I'll help out Jet set Satellite and Levi Weaver cause they are great. I need to check out Josh Woodward hadn't even heard of him.

If Just FYI, I think hot bitch arsenal is now 100-200 bumps from level 19. And ZUBA is like a half bump from level 13.

Always remember, with maximum bumpage comes maximum responsibility.

Sorry couldn't resist that :-)
